We are a welcoming, inclusive community of faith.

Worship is at the center of our life.
Worship that touches the mind, heart and soul follows Christ into the world.
Worship that blends both the traditional and the contemporary.

We seek to nourish a thoughtful, maturing faith.
We offer all ages opportunities to explore and deepen their faith. Our focus is learning what it means to be a disciple of Christ in today's world.

We are committed to Christ's ministries of justice and peace
through Service, Dialogue, and Action.

We are ecumenical.
We stand beside and work with Christian sisters and brothers and with sisters and brothers of other Faiths in our community and throughout the nation and world.

We are a diverse congregation.
We bring a diversity of denominational backgrounds.
We come from a diversity of communities
from San Jose to Belmont.

We are a progressive Baptist Church
affiliated with the American Baptist Churches, USA
.
We have been in Palo Alto since 1893.
We celebrate our Baptist heritage.

We affirm the historic Baptist tenets of:

Bible Freedom
Soul Freedom
Church Freedom
Religious Freedom

Bible Freedom

The Bible, under the Lordship of Christ, must be central in the life of the individual and church. With the best and most scholarly tools of inquiry, are both free and obligated to study and obey Scripture.

Soul Freedom

It is the inalienable right and responsibility of every person to stand before God without the imposition of creed, the interference of clergy, or the intervention of civil government.

Church Freedom

Local churches are free, under the Lordship of Christ, to determine their membership, to order their worship and work, to ordain whom they perceive as gifted for ministry, male or female, and to participate in the larger Body of Christ, of whose unity and mission we are proudly a part.

Religious Freedom

We affirm freedom of religion, freedom for religion, and freedom from religion, insisting that Caesar is not Christ and Christ is not Caesar.
